Registration Form for Recreation Programs

To register for a Township sponsored program, fill in the registration form and mail it in or drop it off at the Municipal Offices in Chantry. Payment and completed registration forms must be received by the deadline indicated for each program. All programs run on a first-come, first-served basis. No post-dated cheques will be accepted and all payments are to be made out to the Township of Rideau Lakes. View the current registration form (PDF file)

Photo Contest

The Township is holding a photo contest in order to choose photos for the 2011 Township Calendar. The contest is open to all amateur photographers who own property within the township. For full details see the 2010 Photo Contest Page.


Town Crier

The Town Crier, David Boyd, is available to attend Township sponsored events and by private arrangement to participate in commercial and charitable functions.

Play Works Youth Friendly Recognition

Shillington Park
Location: - In the Ward of North Crosby on Concession Road 8 just off County Road 10.
Features: softball diamond, community hall with canteen, 2 shuffle boards, 2 tennis courts, playground, trails, gardens, forest area, sheltered picnic areas.

To use the tennis courts, please call Jim Mulville at 613-214-4336 or 613-273-3008. The courts are open late April to mid-October (weather permitting). The general public is welcome to use these courts for a nominal fee by paying at the"Honest John Box" located at the entrance gate. Proper tennis etiquette is expected by all users of the court.

Newboro Memorial Park and Lorne Park
Location: In the Village of Newboro on George St. at John St.
Features: softball diamond, canteen, basketball court, playground, trails, forest area, and picnic areas. Home of the Newboro Men’s Fastball Team.

Sand Lake Park (waterfront park)
Location: In the Ward of South Crosby on Delong Road.
Features: beach, change rooms, washrooms, playground, trails, forest area, picnic areas. Home to the Rideau Lakes Day Camp in July & August.

Kin Park
Location: In the Ward of Bastard & South Burgess on Harlem Road at Portland.
Features: softball diamond, canteen, soccer field, picnic area, play area, basketball court, pop-can recycling bin and home to Kin Car Bingo.

Van Clief Park
Location: Blacksmith Road in the Hamlet of Lombardy, South Elmsley Ward.
Features: passive park with play space, basketball hoop and picnic area.

Lower Beverley Park (waterfront Park)
Location: In the Ward of Bastard & South Burgess in the village of Delta.
Features: cottages, campsites, boat launching & docking, volleyball and basketball courts, softball complex, soccer field, sand beaches, visitor parking, canoe rentals, picnic area. For more info see: www.beverleylakepark.com or call 613-928-2881.

Hannah Memorial Park
Location: Water Street in Portland.
Features: This passive park is currently under development but will offer the visitors and local residents a beautiful place to relax and watch the action on the Big Rideau Lake. Sunsets will be awesome and the peace and tranquility second to none! Just down the road the public has access to a beach for public swimming and Township sponsored Red Cross Swim Lessons are also offered here.


Adult Social Clubs

An opportunity to meet your neighbors, form some strong friendships, have a communication network amongst your peers, play some cards, enjoy exercise, travel, listen to guest speakers, be entertained, eat, hold fun fund- raising ventures, and above all, enjoy your leisure hours to their fullest. New members are always welcome.

RIDEAU LAKES SENIORS SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE

Representatives from all 6 seniors clubs meet regularly to discuss, plan and implement group activities. This fall a day trip is planned to the By Ward Market in Ottawa on September 27th. Call Sue for information about these events or to reserve a spot! 1-800-928-2250 or 613-928-2251.
