Council Thanks Our Vounteers
Council would like to Thank the numerous people who commit their time and
effort in Volunteering for the many Committees and Projects within Rideau
Lakes Township. You, as a Volunteer show everyday through your actions,
that you truly care about the area in which you live. Volunteering can be
very time consuming or may be just a few minutes here and there, but every
time someone takes the time to lend a hand, it is reducing the work load for
everyone involved. Council would like to say Thank You for your time,
energy, knowledge, generous support and for enriching the Community in which
you live and the Township of Rideau Lakes as a whole.
The Department of Community and Leisure Services is truly blessed to have so many dedicated and caring individuals who give of their time freely and with such enthusiasm. Thanks to these people our community is the best place to call home.
Special events rely on literally 100s of volunteers to help with traffic control, publicity, canteen operations, site preparation, safety, and so much more. Beautiful flower beds, baskets and planters exist thanks to the hundreds of “green thumbs” we have in all our Hamlets and Villages. Children play sports with coaches who truly enjoy their time while providing top notch leadership. Numerous heritage projects preserve our history for generations to come. Our halls and facilities are looked after by volunteer boards.
Individual acts of kindness, community caring, this is the quality of life we all want and can find here in the Township of Rideau Lakes.
Your commitment is invaluable. Your energy is contagious. Your pride of accomplishment and spirit of success is absolutely amazing.
To recognize your commitment to volunteering our Mayor and Members of Council have proclaimed 2009 as the “Year of the Volunteer in the Township of Rideau Lakes.”
