Permits and Forms

bb 911 Civic Number Application Form Used to apply for a 911 civic address number:

bb Address Change Form If your address has changed, the tax office requires that you complete a change of address form. Verbal requests are no longer be accepted:

bb Building Permit A building permit is required in most cases if you wish to repair, alter, add to, construct, move, demolish or change the use of any building in the township. If you are not sure if a building permit is required check with the Building Inspector prior to commencement of construction. It is the responsibility of the owner and the builder to obtain the building permit or demolition permit before work commences. Note that as of July 1, 2005, all building construction will require a permit to be submitted using the new generic building and demolition form as described under Article 2.4.1.1A(2) of the Ontario Building Code.

bb Dog Tag Licence All dogs in the Township are required to wear a yearly municipal dog tag. Dog tags can be picked up at the Township Office in Chantry, or you can complete and mail in the following form:

bb Entranceway Permit Residents wishing to create an entrance way off a Township Road will require an entranceway permit. Note that a permit is NOT required for an entranceway off a private road. For more information view the Entranceway Permit Information Page.

bb Festivals Licence A Festivals Licence is required for any public event, festival and/or parade within the Township of Rideau Lakes. For details:

bb Minor Variance Application Zoning by-laws regulate the land use and development. In order to allow for minor deviation from the zoning by-laws, the Township of Rideau Lakes has established a Committee of Adjustment which oversees minor variances. bb Official Plan Amendment Form A form to amend the Township's official plan. Both the Township and the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs must approve any amendments to the Official Plan.

bb Pre-Authorized Tax Payment Form The Township of Rideau Lakes offers a pre-authorized payment (PAP) plan for paying your taxes. PAP makes it easy to budget your tax expenses on a month to month basis. For details see the tax payment page.

bb Recreation Program Registration Form A form used to register for the various recreation programs offered by the Township of Rideau Lakes.

bb Sewage Application Permit A sewage application permit is required for any type of sewage disposal system. For more information see our Sewage Systems Frequently Asked Questions Page.

The township has 3 forms, for a Class 2, Class 4 or Class 5 system. Each form incorporates the building and demolition form as described under Article 2.4.1.1A(2) of the Ontario Building Code as well as the specific information required by the Township of Rideau Lakes.

bb Sand Filter and Stone affidavits Sand Filter Affidavit - for use by the installer and/or sand pit operator when a filter sand system is installed (updated January 2010).

bb Site Plan Control Approval Site Plan Control is used by municipalities to ensure that proposed developments are built and maintained as approved by local council, set requirements for the quality and appearance of new development, ensure safe and efficient access for vehicles and pedestrians, ensure adequate provision of certain facilities such as parking, landscaping and site drainage, protect adjacent properties from incompatible new development. bb Swimming Pool Installation The installation of a pool requires the submission of a building permit (permit application to construct or demolish) application.
