Each summer the Township provides a Sunday depot service for islanders to dispose of their garbage and recycling at local boat launches. In 2011 this Sunday service expanded to include ALL residents in the Township (households only).
This service runs from the Sunday of Victoria Day weekend to the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. You can dispose of your bagged household waste & recycling on Sundays from 4pm-8pm at the following locations: (a truck is parked here to accept your bags)
Newboro Harbour
Forrester's Landing (3:30pm - 3:45pm)
Portland Harbour
Glover's Road Boat Launch
Franklin Drive Waterfront
Lower Beverley Lake Park Boat Launch
North Crosby Garage
South Elmsley Garage
From September 11 to October 9 the hours of service decrease to 4pm - 6pm. Drop your properly tagged/sorted garbage & recycling at one of these areas and it will be collected after 6pm. (trucks will only be parked at Newboro & Portland Harbours but will stop by all other locations after 6pm to collect what is left on Sundays only).
