Elgin Seniors Housing Development
Tenant Applications
The Township of Rideau Lakes, along with its County, Provincial, and Federal funding partners, is currently constructing a 12 unit housing development in the village of Elgin devoted only to seniors over the age of 60. The property is located on Perth Street on the former South Crosby Ball Field park property. The development consists of 12 one bedroom units located in three one-storey buildings. The full design plans can be viewed at the Township municipal office or online at www.twprideaulakes.on.ca (see below on this page). Expected occupancy is April, 2011.
In order to be eligible to become a tenant the minimum age requirement is 60 and the maximum household income limit is $26,500. Rent for 2011 is set at $488 per month plus $100 for utilities.
The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville Human Services Division through its Social Housing Registry will be accepting applications beginning on December 1, 2010. The application form is titled "Application for Affordable Housing" and is available through the following means:
