The Township of Rideau Lakes (Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee) seeks a coordinator for Doors Open 2017 (the exploration of our cultural treasures) on a casual part-time contract basis, with a flexible schedule.  This individual will work with a committee inviting sites to open their doors and gates to reveal what lies beyond.  In addition, the coordinator will work with participating sites to ensure they are able to offer visitors well-interpreted access to each location; arrange publicity of the event, including a local brochure; photograph each site and prepare the material which will be included on the Ontario Heritage Trust Doors Open website; and various sundry related details.

The successful applicant must have excellent communication skills; organizational ability; knowledge of event planning and advertising; and interest in/knowledge about built and natural heritage.

Applications are due July 8, 2016 to Mary Ellen Truelove, Clerk at with the work commencing August 1, 2016 until October 15, 2017. The salary is $18.00 an hour, plus mileage. At this point in time it is anticipated that the job will occupy approximately 200 hours.
