Getting Here:
Newboro is very easy to find. See the road map on the trail map page. Once in Newboro there will be lots of signage pointing the way.
Getting Help:
Anyone wearing a fluorescent orange toque is a Rideau Cup Dog Sled Race Volunteer who will be more than willing to lend a hand. Feel free to stop and ask any volunteer for help.
Accommodations:
Luxury accommodations with reasonable costs can be found on the accommodations page.
Mushers, team members and helpers looking for free "rough" accommodation will be able to use the Township community halls that are located within a
few miles of the actual race route. These halls will be available for
sleeping and have parking lots accessible for your dogs and trucks. The
accommodation will be open shared space. There are washroom facilities and
kitchens but no showers.
You will be responsible to bring your own sleeping
bags, pillows, blankets, mattress, etc. Breakfast is available at the Newboro
Community Hall Saturday and Sunday morning as is dinner on Saturday evening.
If you arrive Friday night there are some local restaurants in the area.
If
this interests you, then please contact Wenda Lyons, our accommodation
coordinator and she will assist you in acquiring space at the Chaffey's
Locks Community Hall, the Crosby Community Hall or others if necessary.
Wenda can be reached at 613-272-0352 or by email at wendapi@kingston.net
